Mahopac- Edward F. Brady “Pop”, a longtime resident of Mahopac, NY,
previously of Carmel and Yonkers, passed away on December 13, 2023. He
was 81 years old.
Ed was born on August 9, 1942, in Saranac Lake, the son of Francis and
Irene (Parisee) Brady.
With a grateful heart, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy
aboard the U.S.S. Amberjack 522.
Once returning home to Yonkers, Ed began working with Con Ed as a
Machinist in the Bronx. He spent the next 40 years with them retiring
out of Indian Point in Buchanan, NY. After being retired for a year and
a half, he went back to work as a Machinist for Metro-North Railroad. He
finally retired for good and began to enjoy the retirement life.
He enjoyed traveling, cooking, playing the bagpipes, world history, his
favorite show Jeopardy, cigars, his all-time favorite football team the
Chicago Bears, his grand dogs, but above all spending time with his
family.
Ed is survived by his daughter Cheryl Brady of Hopewell Junction, NY,
his son John MacKay and his daughter-in-law Kelly MacKay of West
Milford, NJ, his granddaughter Caitlin MacKay, his grand-dogs, Oscar
Brady and Riley MacKay, his sister Janet Viggiano and bother-in-law
Joseph Viggiano of Wappingers Falls, NY, his former wife Christine
Brady, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ed is pre-deceased by his sister Maureen
Krajeski, and brother-in-law Walter Krajeski.
Ed’s family would like to thank Brian Rothstein, Kelly Smith and the
Smith Family, Brett Ferrara, Jessica & Peter Sinapi, Gabriella
Lequerique, and from the bottom of our hearts, The Owners, Funeral
Directors and Staff of McHoul Funeral Home for their kindness,
compassion, and generosity.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 1 pm-4 pm at
McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 10
am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church 1925 Route 82,
Lagrangeville, NY. Interment with Military Honors to follow at St. Denis
Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.
